Roof Age by Address in Florida
County roof age figures and the permit portal for any Florida address.
Type a Florida address to see the measured roof age figures for its county and a link to the official permit portal. A county figure is not the age of one roof; the ReroofGen app reads the permit record for each parcel.
How to find the roof age of a Florida house
Start with the permit record. Replacing a roof in Florida needs a building permit, and the permit is a public record filed by address with a date on it. Search the county or city permit portal for the street address and look for a reroof or roofing permit that passed its final inspection. The final date is the best evidence of when the current roof went on.
No reroof permit on file usually means one of two things: the roof is the original one, so its age is close to the age of the house, or the work was done without a permit. The year built on the property appraiser record gives you the upper bound in the first case.
Why the county figure still matters
One house is one data point. The county figure tells a roofer how many homes nearby have roofs at 15 or 20 years, which is where reroof work comes from. As of September 29, 2026, ReroofGen holds a dated roof record for 2,784,009 of the 6,331,869 single family homes it tracks across all 67 Florida counties, and 434,710 of those dated roofs are 15 or more years old.
Doing this one address at a time is slow. ReroofGen runs the same permit check for every single family home in a market and puts the answer on a map, with the source and the date, so a Project Manager can plan a day of doors around the roofs that are due.
- Search by street address on the official permit portal
- Look for a reroof permit with a final inspection
- No permit on file: check the year built on the appraiser record
- Inside a city limit, the city issues the permit, not the county
Roof age by address questions
Can I look up the roof age of a single house for free?
This page gives the county figure for the address you type: how many homes there carry a dated roof record and how many of those roofs are 15 or more years old. The roof age of one house, its last reroof permit, and the owner come from the ReroofGen app, which reads the permit record for that parcel.
Where does the roof age come from?
From county and city building permit records. A finalized reroof permit dates the roof. Where no reroof permit exists, the year the home was built sets an upper bound on the roof age. ReroofGen counts both and labels which is which.
Why is my county not measured yet?
A county is published as measured once at least half of its single family homes carry a dated roof record. Below that bar the figures are lower bounds, because the records held so far lean toward recent permits.
How do I check the permit history myself?
Use the permit portal link shown for the county. Search by the street address or parcel number and look for a reroof or roofing permit with a final inspection. If the address sits inside a city, the city building department issues the permit instead of the county.
Does this page store the address I type?
No. The match runs in your browser against a list of Florida counties and cities. Nothing is sent to ReroofGen.
